How It Works: The Training Process

For 90% of dogs, these are typically 4-week programs. Pricing is case-by-case based on the dog's needs.
📆 Phase 1 (Weeks 1-2): Foundational Training & Engagement
  1. ✅ Reinforce basic obedience while introducing advanced leash communication.

  2. ✅ Establish proper leash pressure responses for smooth heeling & movement control.

  3. ✅ Begin impulse control & neutrality training in low-distraction environments.

  4. ✅ Your best friend will learn to run on a treadmill.

📆 Phase 2 (Weeks 3-4): Advanced Skills & Off-Leash Conditioning
  1. ✅ Introduce off-leash recall, verbal & hand signal commands.

  2. ✅ Train in higher-distraction areas to reinforce reliability.

  3. ✅ Teach long-duration stays and place command at a distance.

  4. ✅ Work on confidence-building in new environments (parks, trails, urban settings)..

Common Off-leash Training FAQs

1

Can I trust my dog off-leash after this program?

Yes! Our training ensures your dog listens while off leash, no matter the distractions. More importantly you will learn the language and commands to maintain their attention.

2

What if my dog has never had formal training before?

This program builds on existing obedience but is also suitable for highly motivated beginners. No two dogs are the same, and the program is catered to your dog.

3

Do you use e-collars for training?

Yes, we use low-level e-collar communication as a reinforcement tool—not punishment—to provide clarity and reliability. The communication is similar like a tap on the shoulder.

Dude - The Doberman Pinscher Rescue

Gary's Story:

"I rescued Dude from the Humane Society when he was 9 months old, and he wasn't even potty trained. It was more than I could handle, but how often do you see a Doberman at the pound? It was a bit of a nightmare. He wasn't aggressive, but had so much energy and anxiety. Before TJ, Dude had gone through another 30 day program in Missouri with a different trainer for obedience training, but still had leash aggression, anxiety, barked at bikers, and I didn't feel safe introducing him to other dogs. These were all things I was told he wouldn't have after but he still did. After meeting TJ on a road trip through Colorado I decided to drive all the way out from Missouri to do his program. After 30 days with TJ, Dude was a totally different dog. He (and I) went through the training and we spoke the same language, finally he listened, he runs on the treadmill now for exercise, and I feel safe taking him anywhere. It was total magic. He's 3 years old now and has the job he wants and I know how to identify and correct him. It's still work on my part to be disciplined and consistent, but TJ literally changed our lives and I am forever grateful.
